Hey Brody,
First of all let me start by saying "I love you." Sometimes my world gets so busy and hectic with work that I come home so tired that I visit with your Mommy and go to sleep without telling you those three special words. The more I think about you, the more my heart feels a special warmth that causes my eyes to swell and I just want to cry. Not a sad cry but a happy cry.
We had your appointment with Dr. Tynes on Monday. It was supposed to be a routine "How is it going this week" appointment. Your Mommy was telling the nurse Mrs. Carolyn all about how she was having soreness and that she has noticed her ankles disappearing into her legs, aka cankles. The nurse let Dr. Tynes know about this and Dr. Tynes decided to evaluate your Mommy and see how you were. I will spare you the details of how this happened but Dr. Tynes felt your head and told your Mommy that she was dialated 2cm and 50% effaced, in lamens terms, if your Mommy kept being active, you would be here before we knew it. At that appointment you were 35 weeks along. We are hoping that you hang out in there for two more weeks. So now your Mommy is off work for the time being.
Your Mommy and I are looking forward to seeing you real soon. My co-workers, a bunch of lady nurses are making wagers to see who guesses the day you are born. So far the popular vote is May 27th. I like that day as well because your Mommy and I got married on that day. But the important thing is that you are healthy when you get here. So Brody, whenever God gives you the okay to show up then I will be happy with his decision. I love you son.
Love,
Daddy
